About Bloomtown Flowers

Welcome to Bloomtown Flowers! We are a tiny farm in Washington State owned and operated by a Master Gardener.

We offer new dahlia varieties each year. We only sell tubers that we have grown ourselves. Check back in December to see what we will have for sale in the spring.

Our dahlias are inspected during the growing season by the WSDA (Washington State Department of Agriculture) for disease & pests. Your order will arrive with the inspection certificate sticker.

Since this is a small farm, each plant is inspected weekly (and sometimes daily) by the owner. Each tuber is inspected prior to shipment to ensure you are getting a quality product.

In order to prevent disease, we disinfect tools between every plant every time. We follow a regimented integrated pest management plan and carefully source new dahlia varieties from small farms who follow similar practices. Our goal is to get you happy, healthy tubers and plants.

We used our own plants and flowers to photograph each variety as accurately as possible. Photos are Copywright and are property of Bloomtown Flowers. Please note, dahlias may bloom slightly different under different growing conditions.

We do not substitute varieties. In the event of an unfortunate crop failure, a refund will be issued with our deepest apologies.

We are so happy you are here and can't wait to share these tubers with you!

Thank you for supporting our small business!

  • Shipping

All orders are shipped using USPS flat rate priority mail. Unfortunately, we currently only ship within the USA. Tubers will begin shipping in April (weather permitting) to prevent the risk of freezing during shipment. Please open your package immediately upon arrival. Tubers are perishable and need to be kept in a cool (but not freezing, dry, dark place until planting).

    Shipping costs:

    1-4 tubers $10.20

    5-20 tubers $17.10

    21-40 tubers $22.80

    41 tubers and up $43.00

We are unable to guarantee combined shipping on separate orders.

I know how shipping costs add up and I do my very best to save you money. As time allows, I try to accommodate combined orders from the same buyer (same name, same email and same physical address need to match). The process can be time-consuming. If I am able to combine your order, you will receive a refund for the extra shipping in April.

Throughout the year we save packing supplies from various shipments we have received on the farm. Instead of sending this packing material to a landfill, we may reuse it in our tuber shipping boxes to add extra cushion.

Please check your USDA growing zone's last frost date, and follow the detailed growing instructions we include with your shipment.

  • Tuber Guarantee and Disease

GUARANTEE: We personally inspect every plant during the growing season and every tuber prior to shipment. We guarantee your dahlia tubers will be true to ID and arrive with at least one eye or sprout. Buyers are responsible for inspecting tubers upon arrival and must contact us within seven days to report any concerns. Once the seven days have passed, buyers accept full responsibility. Tubers are a perishable product. Due to the nature of this product, we are not responsible for customer negligence, overwatering, weather conditions, rodent damage, improper storage, or the performance of plants. Cuttings and propagation of purchased dahlia plant material voids guarantee.

DISEASE: Bloomtown Flowers is a licensed plant nursery. We are inspected during the growing season by the Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA) for disease & pests prior to shipment. WSDA inspections are a requirement for all Washington State dahlia growers to ship plant material out of state. Your order will arrive with an official WSDA inspection sticker as part of this process. We aggressively cull suspicious plants, sanitize all tools between plants and use several proactive integrated pest management (IPM) practices. We do not sell any dahlias that we have not personally grown on the farm. New varieties are grown for at least one growing season to monitor health, bloom, and vigor. New varieties are grown isolated in grow bags with heat treated soil to monitor for potential soil borne disease arriving from other farms. We will randomly virus test throughout the growing season, however, please know field testing does not test for every possible virus. Field testing is not 100% accurate and false negatives are possible. Please feel rest assured that we go above and beyond to ensure the health of our plants, however, it is still possible for plants to become diseased. By making a purchase you accept the fact that dahlias are not guaranteed to be free of disease throughout the growing season. For additional information on dahlia virus please see our Dahlia Resources link.

  • Terms of Service

CART: Your order is only confirmed once you checkout and receive an order confirmation number and email.

LIMITS: We place limits on some varieties to ensure more people can grow them. This limit is PER household, not per person. If we suspect that you are using family members, friends or other means to get around this limit, all your orders will be subject to cancellation and a full refund.

PHOTOS: All photos on this website were taken by Bloomtown Flowers. Use of any photos for personal or business use is prohibited without written permission. Please visit our Flickr page for photos you can use.

CANCELLATIONS: All orders are final. We do not accept cancellations or changes to an order after it is placed. That being said, we understand that life emergencies happen. If you find yourself in a financial crisis prior to the shipment of your order, we would rather you take care of your immediate needs than worry about dahlias. We care about you more than making a profit and may cancel and refund your order on a case-by-case basis.

SUBSTITUTIONS: We do not offer substitutions due to crop loss. If something unexpected happens with storage between your order and shipping, we will refund you the price of the tuber.

REFUNDS: Under certain circumstances, a refund may be issued. Refunds do not include shipping fees or liability or damages from losses resulting from crop failure. Reselling nursery products and propagation of plant material originally purchased from Bloomtown Flowers voids any and all guarantees on the product.

TRADEMARKS AND PATENTS: Bloomtown Flowers does not sell dahlia varieties that carry trademarks or patents or hybridizers who have expressed interest in these practices. Known varieties include the prefixes: KA (Kristine Albrecht), Coseytown, CJF (Clara Joyce Flowers) and Bell’s. Trademarks are a rapidly evolving in dahlias. Bloomtown Flowers does not guarantee that tubers purchased will be free of trademarks after the date of sale. It is the responsibility of the buyer to research and understand dahlia patents, trademarks and hybridizer royalty programs.

COMMUNITY AND EXPECTATIONS: Our business was built on kindness. Growing flowers together as a community is meant to be a positive experience and bring joy to everyone. Your purchase will help us support several non-profits and continue dahlia virus research using in-home tissue culture processes.

Bloomtown Flowers reserves the right to refuse service to any customer at any time.
