This is hands down my favorite pom variety. It is compact and tiny! It is similar to Irish D Porter, but much easier to come by. The bloom color ranges from a cream to a pale blush pink with a cream/yellow center. When it's fully open, the yellow center fades to cream. I love to use pom varieties alongside the larger blooms in cut flower arrangements. The color of 'Small World' is perfect for design work and wedding flowers. It also has exceptional vase life for a dahlia.

All tubers will begin shipping in April, weather permitting. This is to prevent risk of tubers freezing during shipment. Please open your package immediately and report any issues within 14 days. Tubers are perishable and will need to be kept in a cool (but not freezing, dry, dark place until planting.

Pest and disease prevention: Bloomtown Flowers is inspected during the growing season by the WSDA (Washington State Department of Agriculture) for disease & pests.
I am a one-woman operation and I personally inspect every plant during the growing season. I also inspect every tuber while dividing in the fall and prior to shipment.

In order to prevent disease, I disinfect all tools when cutting flowers and when dividing tubers. My goal is to get you happy, healthy tubers and plants.

Ordering: Placing a tuber in your cart does not guarantee it will be available before checkout. I am a very small farm and my stock on some varieties is limited. Some varieties will go quickly.

Once an order has been placed, I cannot add or subtract items. If you want any additional tubers not included in your original purchase, please place a new order. At this time, I am unable to combine separately placed orders.

Dahlia care: Wait until all danger of frost is past before planting. Dahlias should not be planted until ground temperature is between 55 and 60 degrees. Hold off planting if the forecast is predicting rain. Do not water until sprouts appear from the soil. I know this sounds counter intuitive, but newly planted tubers are prone to rot in wet soil.

Dahlias thrive in rich, well-drained soil. Use slug and snail bait at planting, don't wait until the sprout appears.

Dahlias should be planted in full sun in a location that receives a minimum of 6-8 hours of sun.

Most dahlias grow quite tall and require support, similar to tomato plants.

Most importantly, I hope these tubers grow into beautiful plants that bring you joy for years to come. Thank you for supporting my small business!
